As for Kevin, he made his decision. We had nothing to do with it, but we support him in whatever endeavors he decides. Which is more than what the Witnesses have done.

He hasn’t made a consecration as of yet, but that’s not my concern, that is between him and the Lord, and whether he does or not, he is still a friend.

As to Bible Students not wanting “to sever ties and lose their families”? I wonder where you get your information, nothing could be further from the Truth.

You need to undestand, before you start jumping to conclusions (as you already have) that the majority of the posters on the forum are NOT Bible Students. Most ae xjws wth no home, or associate with Bible Students online, but do not represent us. If you need to know who are consecrated Bible Students, just look for “Bible Students” under their name.

As to your other arguments? We’ve been through these discussions before, we didn’t convince you and you certainly did not convince us, so why bother continuing such a fruitless debate?

I searched your forum using the search box with ‘sectarian’ and ‘sect’ and my thread, you now provide the link for, was not listed. Amazingly, when searching using the same words today the thread *is* available… Very odd…

As for Kevin, I see you are all comforting him with reassurance that he can leave the organisation quietly without formally disassociating himself.

I recall another topic of mine where we discussed this very issue – the need to formally disassociate and Bible Students reluctance; and it is as I suspected – Bible Students don’t really want to sever ties and lose their families, sacrificing all for Christ, be that father or mother etc., they want to leave but keep their families instead of being rejected as an apostate.

Jesus stated: ‘. . .Do not think I came to put peace upon the earth; I came to put, not peace, but a sword. For I came to cause division, with a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a young wife against her mother-in-law. Indeed, a man’s enemies will be persons of his own household. He that has greater affection for father or mother than for me is not worthy of me; and he that has greater affection for son or daughter than for me is not worthy of me. And whoever does not accept his torture stake and follow after me is not worthy of me.’ (Matthew 10:34-38)

However, I understand the dilemma for I am, after all, ‘. . .a man with feelings like [y]ours. . .’. (James 5:17)

And then there’s some post from person who, if I read the matter right, forced his Jehovah’s Witness mother to have blood against her wishes.

If this person is a Bible Student, and even if not, this is outrageous! Surely respecting another’s religious beliefs, whether one agrees with them or not, is important?

Fortunately Jehovah is a God of mercy and wants mercy and not sacrifice.

‘. . .For in loving-kindness I have taken delight, and not in sacrifice; and in the knowledge of God rather than in whole burnt offerings.’ (Hosea 6:6)

The Lord said: “…Have YOU not read what David did when he and the men with him got hungry? How he entered into the house of God and they ate the loaves of presentation, something that it was not lawful for him to eat, nor for those with him, but for the priests only?

Or, have YOU not read in the Law that on the sabbaths the priests in the temple treat the sabbath as not sacred and continue guiltless? But I tell YOU that something greater than the temple is here.

However, if YOU had understood what this means, ‘I want mercy, and not sacrifice,’ YOU would not have condemned the guiltless ones.” (Matthew 12:3-7)

Now that’s the best argument I have heard for why having blood *might* not be so bad…
