About Us

This site is sponsored by Bible Student Ministries an independent ministry, whose goal is to share the unadulterated Truths as presented in the God’s Word. While we are not affiliated with any other group or ministry, we cooperate with Bible Students worldwide in aiding interested ones learn God’s Divine Plan of the Ages.

Bible Student Ministries stands firmly for the defense of the only true foundation of the Christian’s hope now being so generally repudiated,– Redemption through the precious blood of “the man Christ Jesus who gave himself a ransom [a corresponding price, a substitute] for all.” (I Pet. 1:19; I Tim. 2:6.) Building up on this sure foundation the gold, silver and precious stones (I Cor. 3:11-15; 2 Pet. 1:5-11) of the Word of God, its further mission is to “Make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery which…has been hid in God,…to the intent that now might be made known by the Church the manifold wisdom of God”–”which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men as it is now revealed.” -Eph. 3:5-9,10.

We are often asked about the work of Bible Student Ministries, (formerly Bible Students Online) who runs it and how it is financed.

BSM is an independent online ministry that is supported by independent Bible Students worldwide. This support is given mainly through the prayers and helping hands of those wishing to promote its cause.

We own no property, we have no board of directors or trustees to answer to, there is no man made charter to follow, only the Lord and His cause.

While we are an independent ministry, we cooperate with Bible Students worldwide, referring interested ones to fellow believers and studies in their area.

We also offer Bible study aids to help understand God’s Divine Plan of the Ages. These studies can be read online FREE of charge, or hardcopies can be ordered at an inexpensive price.

BSM wholeheartedly supports and promotes the Harvest Message. By “Harvest Message” we mean the writings of the late Pastor Charles Taze Russell, whom we believe unlocked the mysteries of the Bible, via his Studies in the Scriptures. We encourage all to obtain a set of these books, as they are the foundation of the Bible Students movement.

BSM also sponsors the Bible Students Forum, an online discussion board, where Bible Students, and other seekers of Truth can fellowship together, discussing God’s plans and purposes. For some this is their only contact with fellows believers, due to there being no believers in their area.

BSM also publishes an e-journal, the Morning Watch which is delivered directly into your e-mail inbox and is provided in pdf format. This journal will not only aid interested ones in understanding God’s plan, it will also defend it against those who desire to water it down or pervert it.

We also provide audio sermons and studies for your listening pleasure. These sermons and studies cover an array of subjects that will certainly bless you.

  Why did you Leave the witnesses. The reason curious is because my Grandmother was one of the remanent who was getting mistreated because she was a woman. Plus she warned me and my mother that They Would lose Jehovah’s faivor in fact I’ve always been sincetive to to the devil and his demons they always gave me the creeps . AND THERE STARTING TO INFILTRATE THE KINGDOM HALLS AND I SUSPECT EVEN THE HEADQUARTERS. EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS A. ANOUNCEMENT IN THE NEWS LAST MONTH THAT THEY ARE SELLING OFF ALL THE PROPERTIES. In BROOKLYN. NEW YORK AND MOVING TO UPSTATE NEW YORK. SO WHO EVER BUYS THOSE PROPERTIES IS GOING TO BE IN FOR SOME TROUBLE UNLESS THE DEMONS FOLLOW THEN. EVEN THOUGH THEY CAN’T BE SEEN THEY CAN BE FELT. AND THE GOVERNING BODY HAS GOTTEN FULL OF THEMSELVES. AD MOST OF THE MEMBERSHIP IS BLIND TO IT.

Do the Bible students worldwide agree with 2017 being the year when the 3rd World War will take place ?
I am asking because Bro. Khurrsino Miranda of Bangalore Ecclesia has written 12 lesson called “Millenium Pictures” in which he explains from Bible verses how and when the 3rd World War take place. He has also a website called http://www.foundthetruth.net.

  Personally, my study of the Scriptures causes me to think that 2017 is too soon (too optimistic, if one prefers). A comparison with the seven last plagues of Exodus suggests to me that we have to go through a Deep Depression first (plague of darkness, or in Revelation 16 the River Euphrates dries up). But in 2018 we should know better, one way or the other, shouldn’t we? J. Parkinson

I would like to start my query by quoting a scripture:

(1 Corinthians 11:19) ‘. . . For there must also be *sects among YOU, that the persons approved may also become manifest among YOU.’ – NWT

Having been reading various articles on this site, and having recently begun reading Studies in The Scriptures – and various other writings by Pastor Russell – I felt I would like to ask a question or two.

There is a lot of talk about the ‘split’ in regard to the ‘Bible Students’ & Jehovah’s Witnesses. Now, in line with the above quoted verse, could it not be argued that, due to the growth and success of Jehovah’s Witnesses, the Jehovah’s Witnesses have God’s blessing and backing because of their successful ministry?

It appears to me that the ‘Bible Students’ movement is all but dead. In England, where I live, I have never had a ‘Bible Student’ witness to me in any manner. According to Wicki the B/Students membership is in the 10′s of thousands while the Witnesses number into the millions.

What group really appears to be approved? Does it not seem to be the Jehovah’s Witnesses? Are they not the ones who are witnessing about God’s Kingdom worldwide while the B/Students seem, as far as I can tell, to have made no advancement?

I can’t help but see God’s backing on the work of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

In the early years of the Bible Students they zealously proclaimed the Kingdom message – door to door – and using other means.

Apparently Sisters, and perhaps Brothers, would use a suitcase crammed with the Studies in The Scriptures to distribute these publications far and wide. What has happened to that zeal? Where are the Bible Students? It seems to me more likely to encounter a Mormon (Latter-Day Saint) than a Bible Student on the streets or at the door!

Could it not be the case that the few Bible Students today need to take heed of these words?

(Acts 5:38, 39) ‘. . . Do not meddle with these men, but let them alone; (because, if this scheme or this work is from men, it will be overthrown; but if it is from God, YOU will not be able to overthrow them;) otherwise, YOU may perhaps be found fighters actually against God.’

It appears that the Bible Students are a dwindling few – perhaps indicating that it is not of God; whereas the Jehovah’s Witnesses appear to have divine blessing, increase in growth in every way – not a scheme from men, but backed by God Almighty!

  Hi Steven, Well I guess that’s one way to look at it. However, how would you define “success”? You see we have different priorities. Our goal is to “make our calling and election sure”, that is first priority, witnessing is secondary. We’re not out to save the world. I guess if we wanted too, we could invent a secondary group, offer them a house with the white picket fence if they just went door-to-door and sold our literature to make new converts, but that is not our goal.
  
  Let me ask, how far do you think the Witnesses would have gotten had they not closed the door in 1935 and focused on an earthly class? How many anointed JW’s are there in the world? About the same amount as there are Bible Students.
  
  I guess we would also need to define “advancement”. We do what we can with what we have. The printed page, the internet, radio, television, etc. As stated, our goal is not to save the world, or to convert as many as we possible can. The purpose of witnessing is to find those prospective feet members of the body of Christ. Dropping a seed here, and there, where they fall and who will pick them up is in the Lord’s hands.
  
  Besides if numbers and prosperity is the key to success, then I guess I should be a Catholic, or a Mormon or a Seventh Day Adventist.
  
  Let me remind you that the witness work was limited to Colportuers (Pioneers), they did the bulk of the work. That said, Bible Students do witness. We have several radio and televison shows, we use the internet (dozens of websites, blogs, chatrooms and forums), we have dozens of journals, we produced countless tracts, booklets, books, CDs, DVDs. We have public showings and discourses, we broadcast over the internet our conventions, so that any who wish too, can “attend” and hear and see the convention from the comfort of their homes. We also have online, teleconferences and video conference meetings for shut-ins and isolated brethren. We have local and international conventions (there isn’t a month that goes by where a convention is not being held).
  
  You quoted Acts 8:38, 39. considering that the Witnesses believe that they are sanctioned by God alone, and all others are of the devil, I prefer this one ….. “49 And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us. 50 And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against us is for us.” (Heb. 9:49, 50) Showing that God approves those who make a full consecration to him.
  
  As far as dwindling in numbers? Let me ask, Isn’t that what the Lord’s people are suppose to be doing? Let me ask, what is holding up the full establishment of the Kingdom? Is it not for the last of the body of Christ to die in the flesh and be joined to her Lord in heaven, so that when the body is complete, 144,001, the mediatorial reign will begin? As Paul stated that “they without us should not be made perfect.” (Heb. 11:40)

    love amongst yourselves and i find the Bible Students
    much more loving kind and patient. We need more
    Love and less authoritarianism. And i was jw for over
    30 years and 4 generations. I heard and witnessed
    how Bible Students have been treated by the witnesses
    and the lies told. It was very unchristian in my
    humble opinion. God is not looking at numbers He
    Is looking at the hearts of men.
    Thank you for all the work you do. Many former
    Jws are finding solace in your kind words and
    acceptance. I find it refreshing that bible students
    are independent. We want christian freedom and
    we will grow stronger in the Word of God.

Hi again Folks,

I have two further questions to ask please.

The first is related to what happened all them years ago with the four directors who were replaced by J Rutherford.

On this website you end article discussing what happened with the point that Rutherford ultimately had these men thrown out of the Bethel Home.

Now, if Rutherford was in the wrong in what he did, why was no legal challenge ever mounted and how did he and the others end up with ultimate control of the Watchtower Society? This part never seems to get explained.

What did these four ousted directors do next – just walk away or did they put up some sort of fight; a legal challenge? It does not appear so. If not, why not? Is it because, despite the accusations, Rutherford was within his rights?

Please explain.

Next is the term, or word, use frequently in the Studies in the Scriptures, ‘Dispensation’.

Can you explain what this term means in relation to the Bible Students understanding please.

When first trying to understand this word I thought it might mean a period or epoch – apparently a common mistake according to Vine’s Complete Expository Dictionary.

When looking at the Studies in the Scriptures is Pastor Russell, when talking of the different ages, the Gospel Age, the Jewish Age etc., referring to these as dispensations in the sense of periods or epochs, or as, according to Strong, Vine, Thayer etc., ‘the management of a household’, ‘a stewardship’, ‘a preacher or teacher of the gospel ‘, ‘an administration of affairs’?

Apparently, according to these sources, but particularly Vine, ‘Dispensation’ is, again, not a period or epoch ‘(a common but erroneous, use of the word), but a mode of dealing, an arrangement, or administration of affairs.’ – Vine’s

Please could you clarify this matter also?

  Francis H. McGee of Trenton, N.J., was Assistant to the Attorney General of New Jersey and apparently a capable lawyer (from a father who had been a lawyer in Jersey City). He was with the four directors who were dismissed. They talked things over and decided on the basis of Corinthians not to go to law against JFR. Instead, they associated independently with a few thousand others who were being thrown out or who voluntarily withdrew in sympathy.
  A smoking gun would appear to be in the 1918 WT annual meeting, where about 163,300 shares were voting, and JFR publishes in the Jan. 15 WT that he received 194,106 votes! about 30,000 votes more than the number of shares voting. (Bro. Mac and Bro. Van also seem to have received vote totals implying double voting of about 20,000 shares or more.) One can verify the numbers with the 1918 Jan. 15 WT and a calculator (with each share permitted to vote for 7 directors).

Hi again Steven, let’s take the first question. Who says that the Bible Students didn’t “fight”? I guess you can say we were more civil than the Judge was. We didn’t think he would use such under-handed tactics. Then again, he was a lawyer.

Truth is. the brethren felt since this was among the Lord’s people, civil authority had no business in Church affairs. We tried to settle it within the Church, since everything the Judge did was illegal, and there was ample proof of that.

We definitely had the law on our side, but chose not to use them. In the end, when the Judge and his cohorts cheated their way into leadership positions. It was decided to best abandoned the Watch Tower Society and move on. After all, Pastor Russell WAS the Watch Tower Society, he ran every facet of its work. Once he was gone, the work of “That Servant” ceased. Of course that didn’t stop others from attempting to continue the work, some prospered, others failed.

However, we must learn that the Truth belongs to individuals, not groups or organizations. The Lord deals with us as individuals, not collectively as a movement, organization or church. I think that’s what the Witnesses fail to realize.

When the Pastor was alive, the Watchtower was nothing more than a business, a publishing house, and even he stated, the day the Watch Tower became organized, it would then be a part of babylon.

I was looking through your beliefs and was curious about your statement that Jesus has already returned to the earth’ albeit invisibly. Does not scripture say his return will be seen by all (Gentiles) including those who pierced him (Jews)? ref: Zech 12:10; John 19:37; Rev 1:7.

  Hi Alan, it’s a very simple answer. They, with the rest of the world will see him with the “minds eye”, that is the “eye of understanding”. After all, how would you explain, Jesus coming on a cloud and EVERY eye seeingt him? How is it that every eye shall see him at the same time?
  
  When the Scriptures say “those who pierced him”, is it those who pierced him in the first century, or it symbolic of all Jews? And while they certainly did have a hand in his death, the piercing part was done by the Roman soliders.
